First things first though – you’ve probably noticed that this has been the first post in over 2 weeks. If you follow me on twitter (or have read the twitter feed at the side of the site, there) you’ll know that this is because my connection crapped out on me, and for the last 2 weeks I’ve been completely unable to connect to the site. The timing of this was especially unfortunate, as it seemed to coincide with an overall lull in the content output of the Hex community – understandable since it’s been 2 months since the kickstarter finished, and still nearly 2 months until alpha – so hopefully no one thought that the site had been abandoned! Anyway, while it still isn’t completely fixed, my connection seems to have improved to the point that I can actually resume updating the site again. So, here we are!

Hey all, So over on the Utopian Chaos Hex forums there has been a wildly interesting topic (for me) discussing potential money cards/chase rares in Set 1.It inspired me to do a gut check of each Legendary to see which cards might be the most sought after (and therefore expensive). I think at the moment, there are two clear Legendaries that will be the most sought after and likely will be more expensive than other legendaries. This is wild speculation, so we will see how things pan out.

So the one thing that always seems to be the most challenging when first picking up a new TCG is trying to figure out what kind of deck to make. The plan for this column is to be a bridge for new players to get an idea of what kind of deck types are out there and to give them a jumping off point. Ideally I want the decks to be easy to put together (so a smaller number of rares than your typical tournament deck) and accessible (not too complicated).

We’ve seen a lot of each major race in Hex’s world of Entrath, the Humans, Elves, Orcs and Coyotle of the Ardent and the Necrotic, Dwarves, Shin’hare and Vennen of the Underworld, but those aren’t the only races on Entrath – the world is practically teeming with life! So today we’re going to take a look at what we know about a few of the lesser-known races.

This weeks card of the week is a card that I’ve been excited for since the moment I saw it. On the surface, this guy is pretty poor on his own but given a reasonable chance he can completely take over a game. We’ve already seen a mono-Sapphire Dwarf deck with loads and loads of artifacts to try and overrun an opponent with machines and card advantage and while I think that deck was fine, I believe that it could benefit quite a bit from another color. Sapphire is lacking straight up removal and while Artifacts can supply you with cards like Void Key and Sapper's Charge, having access to Ragefire and/or Burn can go a long way to making sure you don’t get overrun before you can even get set up. That leads us right in to the Specialist.

Last Friday’s update gave us a look at all of the Ardent Champions that are going to be in the game, but often overlooked is the fact that there was also a whole bunch of art revealed for the Shin’hare. Some of this art we’ve seen before, some of it new, but what’s interesting is that the filenames of the pieces of art hint at new cards we haven’t seen yet. So, today we’re going indulge in some wild speculation on what these cards might be, based on nothing but a name and a picture! There’s also a competition with some boosters as a prize at the end, so be sure to read all the way through!
